Insurance Claims Dashboard (Sedgwick)
We had an ask by one of our users to enhance the dashboarding experience for employees and managers. We wanted the employee to be able to see the following items on the dashboard: if they filed a leave of absence or disability claim, they should be able to see a timeline of that claim, a calendar of when they would be paid, when the absence was over and notification of important documents that need to be filed.

We worked with the users and the product team to determine what the tasks needed to be completed. The most important were to confirm if an employee had returned to work, to easily see who is off work and identify new claims. Managers also needed to able to access a version of their employees’ dashboards so they could easily see what their direct reports see.

Employees needed to see a timeline of their submitted claim, and since claims could intertwine and combine, so we created the Activity Stream. It was important to note where they fell in the timeline. To assist with this most recent event was indicated in blue, and future events grayed out.
The claims calendar is also important for them to easily understand important dates. Employees could also message examiners who could answer questions about their claim and see a history of correspondence.
